By accessing or using www.goseismic.org (the “Website”) or any services provided by Seismic (also referred to as “Seismic DAO,” “we,” “our,” “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of our services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of material changes through our website or by email.
2. Description of Services
Seismic provides:
Educational Resources: Access to academic papers, books, frameworks, and educational materials related to conscious systems design and the ConsciOS architecture
Seismic Community: A platform for builders, researchers, and creators to connect, share knowledge, and collaborate
Seismic Launchpad: A selective, tuition-free accelerator program for conscious venture building
Seismic Labs: Research and development resources, open-source tools, and technical documentation
Seismic Fund: A decentralized, community-governed treasury providing grants and seed funding (subject to separate governance documents)
DAO Governance: Participation in Seismic DAO governance (subject to separate DAO governance documents and smart contract terms)
3. Eligibility and User Accounts
3.1 Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to use our services. By using our services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age.
3.2 Account Registration
Some services may require you to create an account. You agree to:
Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate, current, and complete
Maintain the security of your account credentials
Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
3.3 Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms or for any other reason we deem necessary to protect our community and services.
4. Intellectual Property Rights
4.1 Our Content
All content on our Website and provided through our services, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, software, code, frameworks, methodologies, and documentation, is the property of Seismic or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
4.2 Licensing Structure
Seismic uses multiple licenses depending on the type of content:
Code and Software:
Code provided by Seismic Labs is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPLv3). See LICENSE-CODE files in relevant repositories for full terms.
Academic Papers:
Paper text (markdown and generated PDFs) is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). See LICENSE-TEXT files for full terms.
You may share and adapt the material for non-commercial purposes with attribution.
Commercial use requires a separate commercial license (contact han.kay@goseismic.org).
Figures and Images:
Most figures are licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.
Some figures (as specified in LICENSE-FIGURES files) may have different terms (e.g., CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).

Books and Educational Materials:
Book content is protected by standard copyright. Fair use applies for educational and research purposes.
Templates and frameworks: Free for non-commercial use with attribution required.
Commercial use of books, templates, or frameworks requires a commercial license (contact build@goseismic.org).
Attribution Requirements:

4.3 Your Content
When you submit content to our services (e.g., community posts, pilot proposals, contributions to research), you retain ownership of your content but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and distribute your content for the purpose of operating and promoting our services.
You represent and warrant that: - You own or have the right to grant the license described above - Your content does not infringe on any third-party rights - Your content complies with applicable laws and these Terms
4.4 Trademarks
“Seismic,” “Seismic DAO,” “ConsciOS,” and related logos and marks are trademarks of Seismic. You may not use these trademarks without our prior written permission.
5. User Conduct and Community Guidelines
5.1 Acceptable Use
You agree to use our services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:
Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Infringe on the rights of others (including intellectual property rights)
Harass, abuse, threaten, or harm others
Post false, misleading, or defamatory content
Post spam, unsolicited commercial communications, or chain letters
Upload viruses, malware, or other harmful code
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users’ accounts
Interfere with or disrupt our services or servers
Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access our services without permission
Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
5.2 Community Values
Seismic is built on principles of conscious systems design, transparency, and collaboration. When participating in our community, you agree to:
Respect diverse perspectives and engage constructively
Contribute meaningfully to discussions and projects
Act with integrity and transparency
Support the mission of building conscious systems that serve human flourishing
5.3 Content Moderation
We reserve the right to review, edit, remove, or refuse to post any content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful, inappropriate, or contrary to our community values. We are not obligated to monitor all content but may do so at our discretion.
6. Seismic Launchpad Program
6.1 Program Description
The Seismic Launchpad is a selective, tuition-free accelerator program for conscious venture building. Participation is subject to:
Acceptance through our application and selection process
Compliance with program guidelines and participation requirements
Separate program agreements that may be provided upon acceptance
6.2 Program Terms
Selection: Admission is merit-based and at our sole discretion. We are not obligated to accept any application.
Participation: Participants must actively engage in program activities and meet participation requirements.
Termination: We reserve the right to remove participants who violate program guidelines or these Terms.
Equity/Alignment: Program terms may include equity-based alignment or other participation agreements as specified in program documentation.
6.3 Intellectual Property in Launchpad Projects
Projects developed through the Launchpad may be subject to separate intellectual property agreements. Unless otherwise specified, you retain ownership of your project, but may be required to license certain improvements or derivative works back to Seismic under AGPLv3 or similar open-source terms.
7. Seismic Fund and DAO Participation
7.1 Fund Participation
Participation in the Seismic Fund (grants, seed funding, etc.) is subject to:
Separate governance documents and smart contract terms
Community governance processes as defined in DAO documentation
Compliance with applicable securities and financial regulations
7.2 DAO Governance
If you participate in Seismic DAO governance:
Your participation is subject to separate DAO governance documents
Smart contract interactions are governed by on-chain terms
Blockchain transactions are public and irreversible
You are responsible for understanding the risks of blockchain participation
7.3 Disclaimers for Fund and DAO
No Investment Advice: Nothing we provide constitutes investment, financial, or legal advice. Any participation in the Fund or DAO is at your own risk.
Regulatory Compliance: You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction, including securities laws.
No Guarantees: Participation does not guarantee any returns, funding, or other outcomes.
8. Educational and Informational Content
8.1 No Professional Advice
The content provided through our services (including frameworks, methodologies, research, and educational materials) is for educational and informational purposes only. It does not constitute:

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights hereunder without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, labor disputes, or internet or telecommunications failures.
